In my work I’m using landscape, digital media, literature, music and paintings as sources to create innovative and contemporary paintings. In my paintings the space in which we move and live is the central subject. With my paintings I want to create a place which enables the viewer to reflect and contemplate. Therefore my art can be seen as a pause which enables the viewer to gain new insights.
During my time at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts I became very passionate and intrigued by the (re)presentation of landscape. The fascinating about landscape is that the awareness of space around us is both related to dis- and her-orientation of the modern man. I try to translate this landscape-experience into an esthetic experience within my work
